Make Money Writing Articles Online With Triond

Updated on December 29, 2012

Triond is an online article publishing website, which allows you to publish your work online and get paid for it. You are paid through Triond advertisers who place ads beside your articles. You can also activate Google Adsense, which puts on additional ads to your page (but pays you also, resulting in more money.) The money made depends on the category. Poetry and the like generally make less money per click than the others do.

Triond shares the revenue with you in a 50-50 split, which means that you get half and they get half.

Pros

Triond has many positive features. The first one I'd like to mention is the incredibly low minimum payout required. Once you earn over 50 cents in a month, they'll send it to you via paypal. (You can also receive your earnings through Western Union or check). This is great for new writers, because there's something very encouraging about getting paid for your work, even if it is small.

Triond have badges, similar to the way hubpages does. You earn badges after a certain number of article views, articles published, people referred and so on. A cool feature are the specials that Triond has.

Specials

The idea behind the Triond specials is simple. In certain months, if you manage to write a certain number of articles, you get bonus money and a badge for your efforts. Since the introduction of these they have been a huge success, resulting in Triond announcing many more.

The specials generally work something like this:

  • Publish 5 articles + 5 flags and get a 10% bonus
  • Publish 10 articles + 2 flags and get a 20% bonus
  • Publish 20 articles and get a 30% bonus. No flagging needed.

The "flags" refer to you reading other people'sTriond articles and flagging low quality or inappropriate content.

Another huge pro is the layout of your main page (the "dashboard"), which tells you everything you could possibly need to know in a glance. View screenshots of the dash board features below.

Triond Community

I would say that there is less of a community feel on Triond. They used to have a forum, which was recently closed due to the fact that they were being inundated with spam.

The mails you are sent tend to be people wanting favours. As you can see above, mine is comprised of spam from strangers wanting me to either read their articles, sign up for some other website with their referral link or wanting me to send money to help long lost princesses escape their home country and pay me millions in return.

Another thing I'd like to comment on is that a lot of people write "good post" as a comment to your articles. These people are just wanting a read in return from their articles, and "good post" is their way of saying that they read yours. I personally hated that bit. It meant that as a writer I got no feedback.

Triond shows you the top search phrases that have connected people to your articles. (Yes, yes, I know my view count is dismal. That's what happens when you publish bad quality articles and abandon them for 8 months. Laugh all you want)

Triond also tells you the top-searched phrases of everybody, which can be handy to help you spot trends. (Keep in mind that you won't be the only one seeing it though)

Cons

  • A huge negative is the lack of community on the site, as I spoke about above.
  • Authors and articles are not rated or given a score that reflects the quality of work.
  • You cannot make affiliate sales by linking to eBay or Amazon. It is just Triond's program, and adsense.

Choosing a writing site, be it Triond or Hubpages or one of the other sites available, is a matter of trying them and seeing which ones suit you. Try for a month or two, and if you don't like the website for whatever reason, try another site.

I am glad I tried Triond because I like the simplicity of the layout and how much information is readily available on your dashboard.
